Derek Slager brings 13 years of diverse software development expertise to his role. Derek began his career creating innovative solutions for web-based enterprise communication. In the earliest days of the Internet, Derek was integrating easy-to-use webcasting capabilities into Microsoft PowerPoint and creating infrastructure for large-scale live video broadcasts. Derek then moved into the broad world of digital media, developing specialized skills in security, digital rights management and distributed computing while delivering millions of digital assets to content partners like Apple, MSN and Napster. His final stop prior to Appature involved a senior role at a consumer-focused web startup that delivered a best-in-class experience for sharing web-based content with large networks of contacts. Since joining Appature in 2007, Derek has applied his broad domain experience across a variety of team structures to optimize development efficiency and quality.
